Tshireletso “ MO” Mothebe is a young Pretoria raised but now Johannesburg based comedian who’s a fresh face on the local comedy scene. Mothebe began his comedy career early in 2013 and has grown from strength to strength. An economics graduate from Monash University, Mothebe has performed in front of audiences all over the country. He has performed in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town and Grahamstown leaving audiences in stitches and yearning for more. His comedic topics range from his past relationships, race and daily observations. Fluent in both English and SeSotho, this tranquil young comic has a passion for Stand- up comedy and hopes to be doing comedy for years to come.

In 2015 Mothebe was nominated for the prestigious Best newcomer award at The Comics Choice Awards.In the same month he won Standard Bank OvationAward at The National Arts Festival in Grahamstown. He is part of the writing team and cast for the new Talk and sketch show Bantu hour which will be airing on SABC2.

He was the opening act for Tats Nkonzo’s one man show “ clever black”.

During his varsity years at Monash University, he was the host of a radio show which won the prestigious “Most entertaining show” at the Monash University South Africa Radio awards.

Throughout his short career he has featured in the final of two comedy competitions, one of which was aired on comedy central.He has featured in the Medlemon “Comedy Minute” campaign which is an internet and television advertising campaign that is currently airing all over South Africa. In the advert he performs stand-up comedy in one minute clips. He has featured on Late Night News with Loyiso Gola as well as being the first ever face of Gautrain. In primary school he was the captain of the U/ 11D cricket team, so there’s also that. His steps on the South African comedy ladder have been swift and calculated. He is definitely one to watch.
